Holy fuck, nice job getting to do the opening for them! I know a lot of people who are into them, but I've never been a huge fan myself. Still, I can enjoy their stuff every once in a while.

i'm not a huge fan but they are on my ipod and when it's playing i listen... i think they are trying for that brit punk niche but there are so many of those bands already they don't have the talent (yet?) to overcome and rise above the rest... i prefer The Cribs, the Arctic Monkeys and even Interpol, but it's decent music and opening for bands like this just means more people hear your music, so onward and upward... and tell us where you're playing so if anyone lives nearby we can come around....

They're from a town like 15 minutes away from me. They're not stuck up hipsters and really aren't that rich, they're actually really down to earth, slightly geeky, polite guys.
I hate how you can't wear tight pants without being called an "emo" or a "hipster"
One time the singer was in line at a Starbucks and let my mom go infront of him because she was in a hurry

I actually like them a lot better than most of the generic indie out there.

This isn't bad at all. I've opened for much much worse. (cock rock anyone?) I'd love to open for a hipster band after some of the bands I've seen.

to clarify, i am really happy i get to open for these guys. i wasn't trying to bitch, just saying im not really a fan. and yes, i have opened for / played with MUCH WORSE

this is the kind of info i was looking for i guess. i'm glad that they are cooler (and less rich?) than they come off as, maybe i'll have a chance to meet them beyond a handshake or whatever. also, i'm sure i get labeled hipster or indie alot. to me, "indie" is worse, but as far as a fashion label i think hipster is a good descriptive term of at least a clothing trend mostly it's the "generic indie" vibe as you put it that gets me.

can you point me to some good live videos or something? i take it you have seen them live? what sets them above other similar groups?

Don't get me wrong, their not my favourite band or anything, I don't think I've even listened to them in like a year but I like them better than most generic brit-type indie because
1. They don't try to sound like Gang of Four
2. The instrumental parts are pretty intricate
3. The guitarist uses tonnes of delay (and I love teh delayz )

I think I like the people that like them less than the actual band?

But like everyone else said, it's a great opportunity! (To be liked by a bunch of pricks)

Seeing bands live can also help you develop a new respect for them. I'm sure opening for them will help even more. Go for it

band was boring... nice guys, although they def. came off as moneyed cute guys felt bad for people putting it on, must have lost an ass ton of $$$$

oops... i thought i had deleted that comment because i thought it was a little lame to spread negativity. guess it didn't get taken down. and when i said that a lot of money was lost it was because i would guess less than 200 people came. we turned down opening for portugal the man on the same night in our home town, which i can pretty much guarantee would have had much bigger draw. oh well, no biggee. it was a pretty fun road trip. like i say, pretty let down by TPC as performers, who seem to get by on their looks and middle of the road indie jams; but found them to be pretty nice guys.
