HouseHusband

Every so often, I have to get away from the city because it makes me paranoid and aggressive. I was not designed for this lifestyle (One day, I'm certain I'll end up living in a cave, eating rats and giving sagely advice to anyone willing to climb up to my mountain home and seek it)... to this end, I've been staying with a friend way out in the boonies of Northern Ontario, about 8.5 hrs away from Montreal and about 2 hrs away from the nearest major city.
During the day, my friend leaves to go to school and I stay at the house. I spend my alone time walking, reading, playing guitar, cleaning and taking care of the "kids" (a dog & cat). I like to cook, so I also try to make sure that she's got a meal ready for her when she comes home. It seems to me that this is basically the lifestyle of a housewife/husband... I know that a couple of our brothers here on ILF have children but in this day and age, I think most families have to have both parents out and working to pay the bills. Have any of you lived the lifestyle of a houseparent? How did you enjoy it? I used to think that this would be the life to live... being able to just chill and do nothing all day but there's definitely something left to be desired. Also, I can imagine that if these animals were actually human children, that I'd have a whole lot more work on my hands.
It's snowing out here this morning... I've been up since 6am, watching the snowflakes grow larger and larger as each hour passes. Now the shingles on the garage roof have a white powdery sheen to them that reminds me of November in more southernly climes. It almost seems as if I've finally managed to turn back time, if only just a little.
I think I'll migrate Northward a little more often.
