quick question

someone i know spilt a beer on his ehx holy grail hes pretty bummed any way i could repair it or diagnose the issue or is it toast

It's not necessarily toast no... if there is moisture damage a combination of putting the pedal in a freezer followed quickly by going in an airing cupboard for a few hours (dunno if airing cupboard is a British word, it means the place where your water boiler is stored that is usually fairly warm) can solve moisture issues (I got a brand new phone off someone that had been in the sea, did this and it worked for 3 years)
Although i'd suggest doing the Airing cupboard first and then if it doesn't sort it the freezer followed by airing cupboard.

If it was on at the time a few parts might be blown, I haven't seen inside these and I know it'll be mainly surface mount but it might be possible to replace a few non surface mount parts, you'll probably be able to see if they're blown.

Also if beer is inside it can be sticky which is not going to be good for connections so some cotton swabs and acetone might be in need and just give it all a good going over.

I'd give it a go anyway, might even be one of those things where a week or so later it'll just start working again anyway but if not try the above things and see what happens, you're not going to make it any worse.

OT though these stories reminds me... I might be interested in buying broken effects from people if the price is right.

whatever you do, don't give it power while it's still damp. that's usually how things get busted...
open it up and let it dry out, then give it a nice quick cleaning like scruffie said. as long as it didn't short out and/or fry any ics, it should be fine.

If you wanna try and get all the liquid out too while its open you could put it into a bag of rice. got an ipod that go put in a wash machine to work again after doing that.
