Blackout is the featured company for March over at stompthatbox.com. They asked me to answer some specific questions and write up a quick bio from my own POV and send them some pics to use. Check it out here:

Nice article!
Hey Kyle, I'm a 4-track noob. My recordings usually sound like a hissy mess. Any advice, websites, anythign you recommend?
Cheers, cb

Yeah, besides upgrading some of the obvious stuff (better mics/preamps for example) a couple of decent rack mount pieces will go a long way, even with a crappy 4-track. Start with a good graphic eq and a decent compressor and your mixes should improve ten fold.
The best advice though is to treat it like any other recording situation, which means always spend the extra setup time needed to capture the best sound that you can initially so that you're not always trying to clean stuff up later. If you're hearing a hissy mess on the channel before you hit record you can bet your ass that the tape will magnify it.

being a featured inventor reminds of something you would put on like a business card

I still need to send in my Whetstone for the V2 upgrades, I just can't seem to get it off of my board
