I noticed we have more than our fair share of anime fans on this board but no anime thread (at least not that the search returned) so i think its time we blow this thing get everybody and their stuff together. What are your personal favorites? What are you currently watching? Which do you reccomend? Why havent they reissued lodoss war? Why did geneon fuck everyone for the hellsing ova? HOW AWESOME IS IT THAT THERES GOING TO BE A TRIGUN MOVIE? Why are people such assholes when you tell them you prefer watching the dubbed versions?

I used to be into anime, but only really the ones I'd heard of. Like Trigun, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, YuYu Hakusho.. I don't really remember all of the ones I dug. Those were my favorites, though.

When I was a little kid I liked DBZ, too, but that doesn't really count. I didn't really know what was going on.

Outlaw Star and Bebop are definitely in my favorites, the art style, subject matter and music to both are so in line with things I love, it's almost ridiculous
Hakusho and Trigun are on that list of "oh yeah those are cool too... "
Hakusho always seemed like a DBZ with demons instead of aliens :/


RIght now I'm finishing Wolf's Rain, or at least think I'm gonna finish it lol, just found Tenchi as well and I can't even begin to tell you how excited that makes me

Armitage, I just wish they'd remake it, it hasn't aged well (same sentiments about RoLW but I never finished it so I can't say really)

Im glad to see you guys like outlaw star. That series is one of the truly great underrated anime of all time. ANN said they were thinking of doing an OAV and i cant tell you how stoked id be on that.

Has anybody seen black lagoon yet? Im just finishing up the second 12 episodes and ive enjoyed them alot so far. There are elements of bebop in there but a little rough around the edges.

I've got a friend who's into anime, and she's hardcore anti-dubs. I can understand a personal preference, but the anti-vs-pro dub people are militant!

You already got my favourite in the thread title. Naruto and Bleach have their moments. There's a reindeer in One Piece. Casshern Sins is beautiful. Kuroshitsuji is about a demon butler. Samurai Champloo is straight gangster. Claymore is bloody. Strait Jacket is too short. Princess Mononoke is like the Star Wars of Japan.

Why do they have to reissue Lodoss? I like it old and grimy.

Because you're an asshole if you watch it dubbed? They use the same couple people for the dubbing, or it's fucking Dakota Fanning. Fuck that ho. It sounds cooler in Japanese.

I just remembered that I've never watched the Evangelion remakes, which, just by nature of who remade them, are the only remake/sequel type things that I approve of, outside of Evil Dead 2.

I also love Cowboy Bebop. Not really a huge anime person, but those two works are some of my favourite things ever.
