For DJing, check out Traktor (not Tracktion) or Serato Scratch Live. (The controller you link to includes Traktor LE.)

For live electronic music, Ableton Live is common - but whatever works for you. Dan Bell played Movement '08 (Detroit) with a 909, MMT-8, 2 Pro Ones, and a few other synths. Jeff Mills playing three turntables an a 909 is incredible. For a laptop gig, any DAW that lets you manipulate tracks on the fly will work. Back when I tried Tracktion it wasn't great for remixing songs live, but the rack is cool (and the price is great). You could download the demo from Mackie's web site and see how long you can keep going without pausing the transport.
