Gretsch BST 1500

Nice, that was the very first electric I owned, back in 1979 or so. My ma bought it for me as a birthday present, along with a Univox Stage 25 amp. Still have the amp but the guitar is long gone. I think they were Gretsch's step into the solid body humbucker game. They were only made a few years from 1978-1981 or so. From what I remember it was a pretty decent guitar tho the neck seemed too flat and wide for me at the time, I'm sure I'd dig it now. Neck was a bolt-on and they came with either DiMarzio Super Distortions or Japan branded p'ups which I think had the chrome covers. The Gretsch crowd doesn't really talk about them too much but people that have them seem to love em. Considered a good guitar for the money.

i've come across one of those before
found and bought one for a friend before

the stock pickups on those things are really hot
i saw a singer from a band scream into one of those and use it as a mic in a concert before
