Recommendations for Signal Splitters

Will a Y-Cable work if all I want to do is split my guitar signal so it goes into my amp and also direct into my recording rig? Or do I need one of those fancy pants splitter boxes? I figured I could run my guitar cable into my cheapo but decent DI box and then from the DI box use a Y-Cable after that to run into my amp and into my recorder. :idk:

dont most DI boxes kinda work like a splitter? 1 xlr out for recording and 1 1/4" for running to your amp? :idk:

Ummm.... yeah, I think you're right!

On my DI box I have a Parallel Hi Z input/output (1/4 inch) and a balanced Lo Z output (XLR). So, I'm guessing I could take the Lo Z XLR output into my recording rig for my clean signal then right? Sorry, I'm an idiot when it comes to all these signal strengths like Lo Z, Hi Z, mic level, instrument level, line level.

its all good man. it can be very confusing. took me awhile to understand what that shit means, and to be honest sometimes i wonder if it really even matters.

but yea plug the xlr into your recording rig and plug the 1/4" into your ampz and you should be good to go! :animal:

Great. Thanks. Eventually I'll be looking to re-amp my clean signal!
