Earthquaker question

I'm having some serious EQD gas at the moment, so I thought I'd get some opinions from you all on their stuff. I'm set on fuzz for the moment, and have been looking at their overdrives, the Crimson Drive, White Light and the new Monarch that looks like it is just hitting stores now. I haven't been able to find a whole lot of demos, but the ones that I have found sound amazing. I like the germanium grit of that the Crimson adds, but I also like the tweakability of the White Light. For the record, I play a strat into vox amps. Anyone played these, or both and have a comparison?

The EQD stuff I've tried --many hoofs, Tone Reaper, Dream Crusher-- has all been top notch. Can't go wrong with that guy if you ask me. Although there is some variation among hoofs -- versions / transistors I don't know but I've had 4 or 5 now and they all sounded different. All good, but all different. Fave has been the 3-knob/1302 trannie. Least fave 4 knob/Etco. YMMV

EQD kicks ass!! i had a hoof, dirt transmitter, tone reaper, and white light od. the white light od is very versatile. it could go from lite grit to bordering on fuzz. i'm really tempted by the new monarch but funds are really killing me at the moment.

I think the crimson drive is supposed to be similar to a red llama/tube sound fuzz.

I have a 3 knob hoof and like it a lot. Warm and fuzzy muff, big sound. I played it side by side with a Skreddy Ernie today and I liked both.

The demos of it look killer! Very organic and thick sounding.

I've got all the EQD stuff, and I get a lot of use out of all of it. Of the three mentioned, I prefer the white light and monarch to the crimson, as I think the white light covers a lot of the same territory as the crimson, but with a bit less gain, more clarity, and the tone control. The monarch goes beyond the white light territory and gives a very different tone; the monarch sound clips he linked to on his site don't do the pedal justice in demoing the range of the pedal...I should've fiddled with the knobs more. The monarch and white light stack great. I haven't done a direct comparison of the monarch with the crimson, but from memory, they are distinct, especially the breakup, but the versatility and sound is much better on the monarch.

the black eye is a fairly transparent clean boost, with a trimpot inside if you want to add some grit, but I run it clean at the end of my signal for buffering and add a last bit of sparkle to the chain.

i can't wait for his revamped disaster transport!!!

I've only got a Disaster Transport but I like it. Analogish digital delay with modulation. Can get some whack sounds.

Well. I ordered the Black Eye, so I guess I'll be reporting back shortly. If only it sounds as good as it looks.....

Just traded for a White Light OD that should hopefully get here this week. I'm super excited. I'll let you all know my thoughts when it gets in!

i''m not trying to be a jerk but i dont think thats a good pedal to review... its a boost pedal, you cant really go wrong with them. there are variations i know but...

anyways, i have quite a few EQD pedals. i actually think that the Tone Reaper (depends on where the Tone is set) can get close to the Crimson Drive. the Tone knob on the Reaper is very unique in that the character of the fuzz changes and not just more treble or more bass.
someone earlier said that the Crimson Drive had some similiarities w/ the White Light? the Crimson Drive has quite a bit of that Germania sound to it which would make it sound very different to me but i have never played the White LIght so idk. i like running the Crimson into the Reaper. also the Crimson doesnt sound so good w/ bright pickups IMO
the Ghost Echo is amazing i pretty much leave it on all the time, it isnt an insanely cavernous reverb pedal so go elsewhere for that. the Grand Orbiter is cool too (mine came w/ some switching problems though  ) it has a unique slope to it, like its much faster going down than up. its also not a super thick sounding phase. my Psilocybe hasnt been replaced but it has a new friend!

i plan to get a couple more, but it will be a while cause i just ordered an B:ASSMASTER (on top of a bunch of other pedals last month) and i might be getting a new 2x12. funds depleted :omg:
