Soi I went to Moog audio in Toronto yesterday with teh intent of playing some DC. They had a ECT, Hax, and a MSRE. I asked to try the ECT and the Hax. BUT THE GUY GAVE ME THE WRONG POWER ADAPTER SO THEY DIDN'T WORK RIGHT!!

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR LIKE 3 YEARS TO PLAY DC AND THEY DIDN'T WORK!

Sheesh, its just a regular old boss style 9v. Center negative, just about as standard as you can get.

Man never, i repeat never underestimate the stupidity of people they have working in guitar stores. This multiplies when its a well respected store (not guitar center). The following convo is submitted verbatim and was held between myself and a staff member at w very well respected NYC vintage store; "I need to check out the bassman over here....the what?...the uh the fender dude....we dont have any fender bass amps in right now but there a couple nice ampegs"









I'm going to let that sink in. The key here is to try and control your breathing to keep yourself from having an aneurysm.




Anyway, the proper response to a situation like that goes something like this "Center...positive? No no (take dipshit salesman by shoulder) maybe if i smash your fucking head through this display case you can look down there and find me the right one."

Completely agreed with the stupidity of people in guitar shops. Not sure why you decided to exclude the people in Guitar Center, they are they worst. First of all, I've had to argue with the idiots in the effects department several times when i wanted to demo pedals with a bass. Apparently everyone employed by guitar center is taught at some point that playing a bass through a guitar pedal will blow the fucking pedal up. Second of all, they never let you turn an amp up to a decent volume, even a little combo. What is the fucking point of demo'ing a tube amp if you can't turn it up to the point where it starts breaking up?

I was trying to point out that dipshit salesmen are not exclusive to guitar center.

It was moog. Although contrary to what everyone is saying, the guy is really helpful, he's helped me before when buying pedals and he really knows his stuff. He offered to find the right one for me but I had to leave.

Bummer dude. I hope nothing got cooked in the guts there. I'm surprised this happened at all, Moog has been selling the fuck out of the pedals, I talked to francis (montreal, I think) and he said they have "all" the pedals all hooked up so players can just show up and WAIL. I hope you can get back soon...

Me too, I was was told they would be getting the manglers in a week or so!
