best guitar I've played in a LONG time, and its a sig model

best neck I've played on anything in a long, long, long time.
the pickups are pretty great, I played it into a deluxe and not my usual GC amp, the 4x10 deville, and got all the usual tele tones plus that single coil jazz thing and the jazzy chicken pickin tone as well.
I'd reccomend it to anyone and everyone, check it out if you get a chance
when you play it think "wow, this is the neck shape and radius that HTSamurai prefers!"

One of the main reasons I love playing a Tele is because the pick up selector is out of my strumming range... putting them on the upper horn has never made sense to me. Looks pretty solid though, except for the goofy headstock. :p

Yeah, I just can't get over that oversized paddle headstock. And I like odd-looking Fenders!

I bet tone-wise, it's pretty sweet though.

I've wanted a j5 tele for a while...he is a sick player, and has one of the craziest collections of vintage teles I've ever seen.

Probably sounds awesome, but get that headstock outta here. Why would fender just randomly decide to change the headstock?

John requested that headstock...partially to make behind the nut bends easier, partially because he digs Fender Mavericks.

I can't say I like it either, but if it works for him more power to em.

You can get a traditional tele headstock shape on his Squier model:

I haven't played either, so I don't know how it compares to the Fender one.

There's the one with three humbuckers as well if you like the CBS headstock.

Yeah, I was actually going to say the same thing. You all should check it out on Youtube. Who would've thought, the guy who's played guitar for Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, having a museum of teles in his house. He's like the devnulljp of guitars.

Yea there is actually a video of John at the fender custom shop and he points out the 12 string.
The entire time he's clutching the neck of his tele for dear life as he watches them mod the body...it's kinda funny.
