i wish i could afford a mastery bridge lol

maybe a buzzstop would put more pressure on the bridge and hold it in place with 10s?

I find toothpaste to work better than peanutbetter, that's serious too as it's a mild abrasive... and leaves your guitar minty fresh :bob:

don't own a jazzmaster, but pretty sure a buzzstop would work, but then you lose the ability to play behind the bridge
pretty sure I read that somewhere, could be wrong though

If it's a tune-o-matic, get a schaller roller bridge. It's a straight drop in that people use when they put bigsby's on their Gibsons. My friend has a classic players and that's what we did. Works fine. It's like 25 bucks on ebay, 45-50 off of Stew-Mac. It has little rolling bearings that the strings sit on.

if you want the bridge to stay put, why not wrap some electrical tape around the posts until the bridge fits snug in the thimbles?

these are all very good ideas... i've had two different jazzmasters (one RI and one parts version that i built myself- see avatar) but both had stock Fender bridges and I use 11's and 12's and it's never been a problem.... have you done a tremolo setup? check this link out:

http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/cms/2007/05/12/setup-the-tremolo-system/

after you do that try the tremolo a few time and watch what the bridge does, it may not be tipping far enough and you may have to reset it.....

but my advice is look into another bridge, the mastery bridge is ideal but more of a "holy-grail with the price tag attached" fix.... people use modified mustang bridges as well......i don't like the idea of a tune-o-matic on these new fenders, no mojo to me.... same with the buzzstop, i have one but don't use it, just feels like i'm clamping down my tone, but again, just me being a snob....

i get all my jazzmaster parts from these guys, some of the best prices around and very nice people to deal with....

Scro, I don't know what you're talking about....
CP JM/Jags have a fixed TOM style bridge. The assembly is not meant to rock on it's posts, like a standard JM bridge does. Indeed, the posts are supposed to be screwed into the body.
