The One Where GR Buys A 7-String

Oh yeah /koolaid
I went with the Ibanez S7320, it's got everything I want ( mahogony w/slim contour, the newer zr trems, wizardII-7 neck, 5 way switching (splits).
The pups could leave a bit to be desired, I'll probably swap em down the road with the dimarzio liquifire/crunch lab (tweaked versions of the air nortion/dsonic).
I thought I wanted a bari at first, but really I like the idea of staying in standard but just having that low ass B string (probably tuned down to A). Plus the dwarfcraft bari isn't out yet.
I've been experimenting with aadgbe tuning, and as awesome as it is, it is somewhat limiting. Adding the 7th string to go aeadgbe seems like the way to go.
I'll make an effort to avoid dropA chuggachugga stuff because it feels terribly overdone at this point, though you can't have meedleymeedleyMEEEEEEES without a bit of jugjiggajugjiggajugJAHJAH.

Bump because mommy didn't love me.
I could tune the bottom strings in octaves (EEE) or do weird shit with AAA
This guitar can't come soon enough.

I want one of those things. I love my Ibanez, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Though on a student budget, $700 is a lot of money.

I got a decent deal...the 7320 was replaced by the new 7420 prestige at NAMM, so these are discontinued now.
With bing cashback and ebay bucks it was more like $500

Very cool. The only 7 string I've played was a Schecter, but it played really well. But I couldn't live without my 5-string bass. That low B is pure thunder.

Awesome, i've always wanted a baritone or 7 string, even though whenever i get on one i can't help but play Pelican riffs.
