i went for it and picked up one of these knockoffs from china. it was delivered in 9 days (7 business days) for 370 bux.
purchased a steve jones model custom:

from this site:
http://bounry.com/index.php?cPath=30OK....now it needed a new nut and i dressed the frets (which isn't a big deal for me) but this thing fukking rocks..
..so i bought this one too:

...fukking maple necked les paul~!~!
i'm awaiting it to arrive but when it does, i'm going to put a set of tele pick-ups in it.
now there are several sites offering this shite. they're pretty much a epiphone LP. metric parts, def not ebony on the fretboard, cheap parts but no cheaper than any other chinese guitar i've tried. the surprise was the pick ups. i expected to change them but they actually sound really good.
some of the gretsch's are so bad they're kool, same with the pointy guitars.
but the LP's are fine for the price....
i'm totally digging a cheap les paul to beat the fuk out of and not care.

"Our guitars are absolutely above the moneys\' worth. We have setiously research the material, and technique..."yeh, love the descriptions.
I was curious about the quality of these. Glad to hear they're half decent for the $. Be great to get an update after you've spent some time with it. A buddy of mine has been ready to pull the trigger on one for a while but keeps hesitating.

too bad they're illegal...
Otherwise I'd snatch me up a white or black flying V
or if someone else who has more guts than me gets it and sends it to me... then you have some mega prizes for ya

Well you can check their site chinabuye.com, they are online store from china. And they have wide range of bootleg Gibsons. The prices are less expensive than Chinavasion and others. 1 year warranty, with safe mode of payment via paypal. Free shipping charges. I bought from them, good quality and reliable.

One of those sites had Epiphones listed. So are they making a cheap Chinese knockoff of a cheap Chinese knockoff?
I don't mind not having the Gibson name, as long as I can get comparable quality. That's why I love my Agile AL-2000. I swear it's as nice as the "faded" series Les Paul (the stock pickups kinda sucked, but otherwise it's top notch).

Haha! Nice. I hate Gibson (the company-- not the guitars), or else I'd kind of have an ethical issue with actually putting the Gibson name on them.
However, why not just buy an Agile or Xavier?

I had an Agile AL2000, and it was seriously about the same as an Epiphone, and for half the price.

I've never played an Epiphone as nice as my AL2000. The sonofabitch is heavy as hell, too.

resurrecting old posts seems to in style lately...
update: i have a total of 6 chinese les pauls at this point and love them all. i work on guitars so it's not a big deal to replace the nut and set it up properly. my 2 fave les pauls are now of the chinese variety. i buy them to mod them to hell.
i would not suggest ordering one unless you're able to do minor work on them. all have needed work on the nut, either replaced or just file it correctly. i change pick ups in everything (except vintage) but having said that the stock pick ups are actually pretty good and do the les paul thing well enuff.
as far as "worried" or "bothered" by having a knock off.......fuk that. i don't try to pass it off as a real gibson, i would never sell one as a gibson (i never sell anything anyway)...and fuk gibson anyway....they have shite quality control and are running the company in the ground as far as i'm concerned. (firebird X, holey explorer. reverse explorer, reverse flying v...you get the point).
i'll get some pics if anyones really interested...it'll take a couple days as i'm just getting home from russia and jet lagged, beat down and generally feel like dirt.
i do know that billy gibbons has bought about 3 dozen of these things and he's the one that turned me onto them. i think if they're good enuff for him, i'll prob be able to deal with them too. he was right.

These vintage Global brand LP style guitars aren't half bad either.
