So this guy is offering me a fender jazzmaster for 175 bucks but, it's a clone but has the fender logo on the head. What should I do? Really the name means nothing, if it sounds good it sounds good, right? It just feels like I'm cheating my self out of the real thing

It's hard to tell much about the guitar from that crappy flashed-out pic but as long as it plays well, grab it. That's a pretty sweet price!

From the knob placement i'd say it looks more like a jaguar.

I think you are right...

well at that price if it sounds like crap you'll have a cool looking guitar that doesn't sounds like any of your others
if it's sounds cool you'll have a new main guitar
if it plays like crap you'll have a guitar to use for a few special songs
if it plays great you'll have a new main guitar
any way you look at it you're making a good choice

Doesn't look worth it to me...you can get a new decent JM copies for around that price.

Of course, check it out...if it plays well, you can't really put a price on that. Plus he already carved a sweet logo into the pickguard.

Not exactly a clone, but the offsets by Xaviere are pretty close.

i've heard some mixed reviews, but for the price they seem to be pretty awesome.

Where can we find these jazzmaster clones?

THAT GUITAR WAS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!
It had homemade pickguard that didn't fit properly with the cutout in the guitar. It had a neck that didn't even fit the body! It was also like somebody had drawn the fender logo on the head

The xavieres have either been big hits or big misses depending on the person. Really polarized views. I'd like to get one, but I don't have the space or the cash. I really like the fact that you can get an inexpensive Telemaster from them.
