Im pissed.

Tried to install a new pickup in my guitar and the damn tone pot won't work! It constantly sounds like the tone is all the way down
The volume works fine!
I've tried re soldering the wire to the tone pot 4 times! What the shit is going on?

Three options:
1. Tone Pot is shagged
2. Pickup is shagged
3. You did it wrong

The tone pot is wired up wrong or it's shorted on something. The lead of the capacitor that is supposed to be connected to the pot is grounded... so the pot will have no effect. (sounds like a weed joke, but it's not)
So... check to make sure you soldered everything where it's supposed to be.

What they said.
Replacing a pickup doesn’t require any soldering to the tone pot.
Only one lead to the volume and one to ground.
Recheck every thing and /or disconnect every thing you did and start over.

Yeah it turns out the tone pot just took a shit.
Had some spares laying around.
