Remember the Hugger + Module concept?

Back in mid-2009, I got this idea to sell tiny knobless modules to go with the Hugger, that you could stack in different orders (in the Hugger's TB loop), and then drive them with the Hugger's preboost, and use the post boost as your level control. Basically to create your own effects, different textures, etc.
(Hugger for $115, modules for $30-50.)
Mellowtone built a run of modules to work with the Hugger:

For those that don't remember what the Hugger was:

My point:
I still think that's a cool idea, and if I have have the funds to relaunch that idea, I will! Though the Hugger will be renamed the Vice Grip.

I bought a hugger over a year ago with the hope to see all sorts of cool modules in 2009...none yet.
What a con.

Oh and any noisefloor/nofi owners, you really need to look into the hugger...I mean the noisefloor basically is a hugger module (

)
I'm not sure how much work a module would save devi, but a whole line of of modules with chaos/noise/osc whatever would be neat.

I got a Noise Floor in my Devi Twin pedal and a Hugger off someone on here and that's exactly what I do with it. The Hugger post colors the sound a little, but not too much and it makes the Noise Floor totally usable. The other circuit in my Twin is a Hyperion and setting the preboost on the Hugger low is like turning the guitar volume down and makes the Hype more controllable.
The Hugger interacts great with Devi stuff.

This all looks great. Love the concept. I'd be curious to get in this game if another batch came around.

Vice grip is good. The Hugger is so appropriate though.

I still love the Hugger + Module concept.
I wonder how a Phantom Octave would react to the crushing power of the Vice Grip?
Or how the Ab-synth would...
Hmmm...

The Phantom Octave isn't gonna like having a buffer/boost in front of it. Though you could turn on the post-boost and overdrive the post-boost by turning up the Phantom Octave's output for more gain!

phantom octave > hugger (velcroar > bacon oscillator > ab-synth > tiger wolf) > dmm....
