I'm tired so I can't be bothered to look up more for now
missing from this list, obviously right now, are Billie Holiday, Al Di Meola, Elvin Jones, Tal Farlow, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Joe Pass, Charlie Byrd, Maynard Ferguson, Chik Corea, Stanley Clarke and theres tons more but, again, I'm tired.

I'd have to Add ... ANYTHING by Miles Davis and Thelonius Monk. freestyle Anarchy . Oh and the Great Django Rhienhardt, although he spent a lot of time in the Swing genre. :bob:

I once thought that jazz, much like good, was dumb. But then I heard Bitches Brew, which probably became a Desert Island Classic quicker than anything I have heard before. Now I am quite enjoying the genre, although still a bit casually outside of Miles and Coltrane.

I have decided (within the last 5 seconds) that I want Thelonious Monk to be the next person's discography I dive into. Any recommendation for a starting point? I enjoy fucked up music more than that other kind.

His stuff with Coltrane is great. His song Off Minor and Blue Monk are amongst my favorite.
