Fender Blender

So I finally got to play with my new Fender Blender tonight...

My God I LOVE IT! It's EVERYTHING I was looking for in an octave fuzz and MORE! I bought this Octavia clone a few weeks ago and it just didn't work out but I saw demos of the Blender and decided to give it a try. The Blender hits it right out of the park. Those people complaining about volume drop are doing something wrong because I can even out pretty well on it. Besides, you can always use an effect loop to get around it.

If this one sounds like this, I can only imagine how awesome the original must have been!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My winning combo: 8-10-7-9 on my Les Paul neck pickup with the tone rolled back... forget about chords on those settings!

I liked the Blender (excellent pedal), but what I like even better is the Soda Meiser for those types of tones

my biggest gripe was the "volume drop" on the Blender. Yes, you can ~ barely ~ get unity volume... but that, unfortunately, was the deal breaker for me.

a volume drop on a dirt pedal is dumb haha
I guess the original didn't have that
making it infinitely more badass

You think a volume drop would be very difficult to fix, I mean, enough people complain about it...?

I have one from 1969 that rules. Tried the RI, and it was kinda meh.

But if you like that sound, scout out an Ace Tone Fuzz Master -- the FM-2 has the octave and is like a super BeeBaa.

You're right I play way too loud.

i think i'm gonna just take a gamble on teh reissue & if it sucks i'll just keep the knobs & put 'em on a Jagmaster and then get a clone. i mean teh volume drop would have to be REALLY bad, not just typical guitarist whining.

My blue box was louder than my fender blender. :erm: I'd get a clone.

IDK. when guitarists start whining about volume drops & plastic enclosures & multi-fx i tend to tune-out all of that stuff.

I'm the same way, I love the small stone, blue box and other quiet effects. But for $200 I wouldn't buy the blender again. Gnarly fuzz but its useless unless you put something in front of it to boost the volume. However if plan on having it on all the time.... that'd be cool too.

Maybe the newest ones have the volume fixed?
