No batteries.
I mean I guess if there is left over room in the enclosure it wouldn't be terrible (don't make it bigger just to fit a battery in)
or it's a vintage fuzz of some sort...but yea. No batteries.

I never use batteries anymore (had more failures due to batteries than I ever have due to power supplies), but I could see how a builder would want to keep options available for those who use 'em.

I think I definitley appreciate the option, sometimes if I just wanna have a little Jam I don't wanna get my whole pedal board out with power supply etc. so having the batteries is a bonus
I admit they have there flaws and are outdated but I still find use for them personally and it could sway me when buying a pedal (unless it's gunna mean using a larger enclosure or the switched DC Jacks are harder to find which I find a problem in the U.K) however... I completely understand the move away from batteries and why some people just like using power supplies, I don't think anyone really only uses batteries now unless as you say vintage effects are used but if companies put in a bipolar power supply, that point becomes moot and you could always buy a positive power supply but some people don't understand that.
They are bad for the enviroment though taking up all the landfill space... and will the person dispose of them properly like yourself, unless you use rechargeable 9V batteries which are getting better these days in which case they could be quite sustainable for pedal use...
There's alot of variables but I still like having that option.

Unscrewing a back plate is a pain in the ass. I power all of my pedals except for one which doesn't have a dc jack. Batteries cost a ridiculous amount of money (in my opinion) and I'd rather spend the money on a power supply than buy a two pack of 9 volts for ten dollars.
I used to use batteries before I had a diasy chain (and now powered pedal board) and the convenience is well worth it. Scruffie has a point with the quick on the spot jamming thing, but I'm an ass and take my pedal board no matter what.

I guess the option is nice, but its not necessary for me to buy a pedal.

some people swear by the batteries, but meh. i would only consider it an option if the effect benefitted from a volt sag, but then why not just add a starve instead. I prefer the space saving, if it means a smaller enclosure too.

If it'll put your mind at rest... as someone that wanted the option, ditch the 9V batteries, it's a pain in the ass to incorporate them to things anyway I find and Pumpkin pieces made the point of the One Spot which where as I wouldn't get my whole power supply and board out, i'd get a little board out and just use a single supply.
Perhaps... supplying one of those DC jack to battery cables with each pedal would solve it, you're giving the option, but you're making it no hassle for yourself and awkward for the person that wants to use it.

No batteries. Better for the environment and battery doors are unsightly. Screwing pedals apart to get at the battery compartment is also a pain. One day I'm hoping wireless energy will supply pedals!

I know that some people insist that Batteries sound better, but if that's the case with some pedals, I've never used them or noticed, so it means nothing to me.

I have no preference. Sure, batteries are bad for the environment, but they'll still be made regardless of guitar pedals using them or not.

i want the battery option simply for emergency use. having your shite go out on a gig is no fun. i keep batteries in everything just in case of that situation.
however....what i really hate is when pedal makers make a "battery only" pedal ....i find that very annoying and it has kept me from purchasing a pedal in the past.

i really don't have a problem either way. but i do wish if a manufacturer is not gonna give someone the option that they include a power supply or an electrical cord w/ the pedal instead of putting that onus on teh consumer.
i do like teh recycle battery option myself. i got one for my digital camera a couple of years ago & i have yet to buy any neu AA or AAA batteries--recycle or disposable--period. i do need 2 get a recycle bank for C/D/9 volt & 1-day i will get a one-spot. but it's kind of funny. i'd like 2 have the option but most of the pedals in my chain now use power supplies cuz they're biggish pedals/multi-fx & they don't take 9 volts.
what i think is phony is when people talk all this environmentalism stuff but they drive neu cars, have neu macbookpros & iphones, don't bike or use public transportation, live in apartments or houses all by themselves, don't vote Green, buy neu clothes, don't compost or recycle, constantly buy neu pedals & instead of buying used first et cetera...

I use batteries in my dirt. It's easier than having a bunch of wall warts, and I don't wanna fork out for a power supply since I don't have a ton anyways... So, batteries as an option.

I just picked up a power supply and couldn't be happier. I picked up a bunch of those $1 batteries and two of my pedals tore straight through them. I looked at the batteries more closely and they weren't alkaline, but some other type of battery. Not having to worry about unplugging the input jack on pedals when I'm done is really nice, and I expect the power supply will save me some dough over the years.
So basically I don't care if it can take a battery, I only care if has a DC in jack!

i bought a one spot a while ago and it works very well...
i would like to have an option in case of emergency, but i dont use batteries really.
i try to remember to recycle my batteries as we have a few bins here at work for them!

I very rarely use batteries, but I absolutely need the option for two reasons :
1. When I'm troubleshooting problems with weird noises in my rig, being able to quickly illiminate the power supply as being the problem or if it is, being able to go batteries for the night and figure out my issues on my own time is a huge help.
2. When I'm playing around with pedal orders and trying to find a certain sound in my head. I like to be able to move things back and forth pretty quick with as little recabling as possible. When I know I'm going to need to do that, I pop batteries in before hand and everything seems to go quicker.
Having said all that, I burn through fewer 9v in a year than I have fingers on my hand.
