why would we talk you out of a tubescreamer? TSs are great...they just get a bad rap because they're pinned as the "white boys blues" pedal. There should be no shame in owning one...they're great to use with everything.

Anyone have any opinion about which version/clone/revision of the TS is the best?

I had the Maxon OD808 for a good long while and I really enjoyed it. I replaced it with an OCD which isn't really a TS clone...it'll do TS sounds but it has a good bit more versatility.

I have a TS-9 (black label snob pedal) and a Jacques Tube Blower (TS variation), and I like Eric Johnson.
I also have a Stupid box and a Taxi Driver if any one cares.
Once a friend brought over a tone Pump, 3 original TS-9s, a TS-808 and 2 TS-10s.
We spent about 3 or 4 hours cork sniffing.

I like what they do.
If you pump them into an ILF creation, blues guys wet their pants.
