I just started watching this weekend, started friday, conveniently got sick that night, and here i am, up to episode 10 of season 2.

im addicted.

I love the show. discussion? preferably on the first and second season?

Season two was the last really good season. The past two have been over-dramatized and whored for the hollywood reasons. I was into a dead man an hour. Now you're lucky if you even see a dead body. It's turned into a drama true to the word. Rita constantly nagging and love constantly being flashed on the screen. The only thing they have going are the twist endings and at this point I'm starting to not care. It took me 8 episodes of this season before I got into it. Despite the fact it's not as interesting, the show is still addicting as hell. John Lithgow was the only good part of this season. Season 1 > Season 2, 3, 4

Season 2 was the last "great" season, I'd argue 4 was worse than 3 for a few reasons which we can't discuss yet

My wife loves this show. I didn't watch the first two seasons at all, I've only watched season 3 and 4, so I guess I have a different viewpoint than most of you. I guess I'm the outcast, because I thought season 4 kicked season 3's teeth in so bad it wasn't even comparable. Season 4's villain was one of the best villains I have EVER seen. He was fanfreakingtastic. I actually found myself rooting for him all season. I won't say any more until everyone else has seen it.

I do think John Lithgow was brilliant, but that's where my praise of the season fades...

Everyone hates season 3/4 Rita that's a given (why did she stop getting nekkid?), but my real beef with season 4 was with Dexter himself.
I don't like him any more, and connecting with Dexter is one of the main draws of the show.

Yeah, Rita was nagging all day! I just finished 4 and I almost shit my pants but out of respect my lips are sealed until Teej crosses the line.

I think they just hid her figure for the earlier stuff, making her seemed battered and withered, and then dolled her up. She's too pretty now.
