Help me spend $300 on 2 fx pedals!

So I'm looking for a chorus or a flanger pedal with a really watery feel. My band's going to record a "Water" ep and I want the lyrics and concepts to be connected to the guitar sounds. So I'm looking at pedals for around $150.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the EHX XO Stereo Electric Mistress. The Chorus and Flanger options are limited, but being able to blend them together (plus the filter matrix mode) make it seem like a versatile little water maker for $109 (@pgs.. if you guys know a cheaper place lemme know! :thumb: )

I'm also looking for a Bitcrusher. This is a toughie, 'cause generally they're either super expensive or just not real bitcrushers. Basically I just want something that fucking sounds cool and crushes d00dz' bits.

I'm leaning towards the Seppuku FX Digital Pitch Modulator. Seems like a pretty versatile little crazy noise-fucker dude. Not so sure if it actually is a bitcrusher or not but it can certainly mangle sounds into bitcrushed-like noise. It's about $169 from Fuzzhugger with free shipping (i think?) and I'd be supporting FuzzHugger, which is something I'd really, really love to do. :hobbes:

Just wanna check and see if you guys agree with these choices. :idk: I hesitate to pull the trigger on anything without seeing what you guys have to say first. I'm low on funds, max $300 bucks. All my christmas shopping is done and that's what's left.

Help me out suckas! Tell me what you think! Say something mean and bring the lulz! :bob:

d00d I'd eat my own legs for a Cosmichorus. Aren't they $250?
edit:

Doubt you'll find a used cosmichorus at all, let alone for $175. :idk:

Isn't the Red Panda an inexpensive alternative for a bitcrusher effect?

With a dock, (which I would need) it turns out to be a few dollars more. But it is a pretty groovy effect.

Flanger hoax should be able to do a phaser, a flanger, and a chorus.

The Frisco Audio Technology ABC-1 is another bit crusher. I think it sells for $150.

The EHX SEM is a fantastic pedal. The chorus is very watery and warbly. The flanger can do watery stuff if you keep the depth below about 1:00. Above that, it gets very metallic, and at max, it sounds like ball bearings rolling down a pipe. The filter matrix mode makes your guitar sound like a bell

As for a bitcrusher, there aren't a lot of true bit crushers for less than $200. You can get an Alesis Bitrman, which I have and love, but its more of a desktop unit since its bypass is a plastic button, instead of a stomp switch. I just step on it carefully ;) As for the Red Panda, I'd also look into getting one of the line 6 tonecore pedals with the dock on eBay, which you can usually get usually cheaper than buying the dock itself. The Antenna 2 and also the Catalinbread Heliotrope, which both do sample rate reduction, sound somewhere between a bit crusher and a ring mod. Its a very cool effect, but not a dead-on bit crusher simulation.

FWIW, back in the day I ran an EH Electric Mistress (regular) into an Ibanez CS9 stereo chorus, and described the sound as "watery." :omg:

copilot antenna and seppuku dpm are ring mods if im not mistaken. can go into the bit crush territory but are a beast all their own. rings mods r bad ass too, just clarifying.

From time to time, Musician's Friend sells the Crunchtone full pedal for $30. I picked one up a few weeks ago. I got a windfall last week and I bought the Red Panda module and switched out the Crunchtone. This thing is incredible! I only played with it for an hour last night but I was able to make some unbelievable sounds with it that were ALL diverse. At some point I'm going to do some demos but I'd say for $85 and possibly $30 for a dock, it's well worth the money! Even in mono. Sometimes you can get a Space Chorus for cheap on eBay (I got mine for $40) which has a stereo dock.
