i'm researching really dense fuzzes, and the thickest i've found with a reasonable price is the death by audio fuzz war. I'm pretty new to the fuzz world, i don't really play noise music but i like the sporadic use of fuzz. i got an algal bloom and a full tone fulldrive 2 and coupled with my pog 2 i get some pretty deep sounding fuzzes, but there's not enough "hair" on those sounds. Anyway, hope i painted a pretty good picture as to what i'm looking for. Any suggestions?

It's the cheapest Wall O' Fuzz I've found and has a great sound to it. I don't know about the Fuzz war but my DBA fuzz gun its a little too gate-y without a boost in front of it.

I'd get a Mountainking Electronics Huge Box. It sounds massive. It's 1st on my GAS list. Once the dust settles and I have my rig set up, I'm getting that!

I've got the Fuzz War on sale right now...but to be totally honest, in my opinion, it's not really thick/dense sounding. Maybe some users can chime in on that.

The demos make it seem very dense. I really love my Fuzzhugger tea bagger which is a variation of the great wall, for hairy fuzz tones but it's not the thickest, which is why it's so great for chords I guess. I'd check out the Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler.

I used to have a Blackout Effectors Musket Fuzz (V.1)
Thickest sounding muff type that I ever owned. It pushed my amp so hard and it sounded monstrous.

I've had one for almost a year and I think the fuzz war is fantastic at chaotic-yet-controlled fuzz. I'll admit that after a couple months, I got a little bored with it. It just seemed to produce too much feedback for me, but then i started experimenting with different overdrives in front of it and behind it and my love was reignited I've gotten tones pretty similar to Boris sludgefuzz (like the song "Farewell") and if you spend time dialing in just the right settings (not hard with only two big knobs), you can get all sorts of stuff.

For the price i think it's excellent (and looks badass). It can go from a really mean growling bass fuzz to a oh-shi-this-pedal-is-about-to-explode fuzz, and the sound will change a bit depending on how many pedals you have in front of it and behind it. And if you get tired of it, change your other dirt up and you can coax all sorts of fuzz out of it.

As maybe an example of what type of fuzz i'm looking for, i really like the fuzz sound that guy from silver sun pickups gets. i saw on that pedalboards of the stars thread that he was using a proco rat, but i really doubt that that was his pedal board. I could be wrong...

That WAS his pedal board. He uses a lot of different fuzzes in the studio but live he keeps it pretty simple.
