At this point in time in terms of RIC the over love that has been going around for the last few years I think it is a OK deal. One nice thing about RICs is they are all pretty damn good.
I love RICs and would love a fretless one day, but I doubt I'd be willing to pay more then a G for one, so I doubt I'll ever actually own one... One the other hand I've it was a blue one... I might that pay for it...

Oh, god yessss. You need to get one. I played one in a former band and it is BY FAR the best bass I have ever touched.

no brainer Devi, c'mon, the RIC bass is the tittiest of tits. I'd hit that for $1500 if I had the money. You won't be disappointed...at least for me, my favorite bass tones always seem to come from RICs

A little late to this thread, but Devs, I am so glad you are doing this. One of my two absolute powerball lottery winner dream basses is a ric (slightly different model for me, but who gives a shit). There is absolutely nothing in this world that sounds like a Ric bass, and I can always tell in about two seconds if they're using a Ric bass on any recording. Chris Squire is the one that made me fall in love with it. Just to contribute to the thread, here is the song that makes me pine away for a Ric bass to this very day. The bass tone starting at 0:44 is SO FUCKING RIC AND SO FUCKING EPIC:

Just saw this thread--I don't think you will be disappointed with the bass. Rics give you a wonderful simultaneous high attack and deep low with a pick. Listen to Yer Blues and Helter Skelter on the White Album.
I posted this in the bass thread--a cool ric forum where you can learn more than you want:

Rickenbass is necessary! Seriously, I've been playing a '79 Fender P-Bass Special since I was 9, and the only thing that I ever thought would challenge it was a Rickenbass. Good choice!
