Wilder, I'm shocked.... you're like the wise man on the hill in this place, aren't you?? yeah, devi led me here but i just got the hook up on the Dwarfcraft Dream Mangler prototype and it's just damn cool and looks hot on my pedalboard... i also got a Shiva recently and (although I will be trading it for a TBD) i was so impressed with the sound and design i am planning on getting my hands on the Eau Claire Thunder in the near future....

We are approaching a whole new realm of pedalboard toys and devi and aen are leading the charge.....

I love the Manglers in theory but I think the only one I'd really want would be the Bit Mangler, I've at least played one of them. I feel that there is just too much doubling up if you were to have all three: VFM in both Bit and Dream, 2 SM in Synth.

In fact I don't really need the joystick. If Devi offered it I'd just get custom dual pedals with the chaos and noise switches like on the Manglers. However I would seriously shell out for an additional stomp switch to toggle their order.

The problem becomes what to replace the doubles with?

Anyways the Robot Devil looks fucking awesome.

and after having owned a bunch of different brand pedals, when i got my first Dwarfcraft (the "odd" dream mangler) i realized this is great sound contained in a box that resembles art and should be hanging on walls... i had a shiva (albeit briefly... which i sort of regret already) and when it was on my pedalboard i would lock into this pedal and just stare at it while i played.... and then you realize it's making those crazy sounds you're hearing.... it's crazy, a real cerebral mindfuck....

once i find some time to do a vid of the odd dream mangler i will post it... the joystick for me is really a quick way to adjust the tone of the circuits working together, i rarely manipulate it during a song unless i'm doing the crazy stuff that Aen did with it on his performance vids he posted.....

Dude get the shiva. Or atleast...the shiva AND the manglormarator. I dont really get the bon iver uses a shiva thing....do they have loud shit ive never heard? I had a girlfriend that played them incessantly and it really pissed me off cause a bunch of record store dbags had told me they were really influenced by sol invictus and death in june but it just sounded like indiemo stuff. Anyway whenever i step on my shiva its all HOW THEM EARS DOING FUCKER? NOT SO WELL? YEAH. FUCK YOUR EARS. so buy the shiva...the thing thats great about that pedal is its all....yeah i mean alot of pedals go for that tonebender thing...and its cool if you like to sound like jimmy page...but i can make my pedal sound like jimmy page if he just lobbed off his fingers with a steak knife and played with the little exposed bone points and just decided to plug his guitar straight into his ass. I like sounding like that better. it goes all WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR WREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

oh and with that MEMRI MAING you can reeeeally fuck shit up

NewarkWilder wrote:and its funny that you bring up tonebenders. part of my problem is i went on this journey with vintage GE fuzzes... many of which I really like but ultimately have no real use for in my music. I'm probably even gonna be building some tonebenders but I know I'm gonna be the black sheep of that world 'cause I have no interest in building them to vintage specs or have them be total jimmy page in a box w/ uber badass mojo parts etc... i want to make some kind of mutant freak tonebender derivative but its nearly impossible to change that circuit without making it sound like ass. mostly 'cause its already an ass-hair away from sounding like ass to begin with. ugh.

ToneMangler! heh.

It's all about abusing the bias on those transistors and getting control of the voltage. That's where the magic* happens.

*Magic - assshittingly good tone where 5% of the world looks at you as a genius and the other 95% try to figure out if you know that something in your rig must be broken.
