You could try downloading this, the pdf version of the old Simple Machine's Mechanic's Guide to Putting out Your Own Record... it's the 2000 edition, so vendors may have changed, but I suspect the process is still much the same...

urpressing.com is popular
check aardvarkmastering.com
its a guy who does the mastering and plating of your record (making the stampers to press the record) and he has lots of good knowledge on his website that is way worth reading. also he charges less for the mastering and plating than the record plants so you could have him do those steps and then jsut have the plant only do the pressing, should save some cash.
im also looking at erikarecords.com myself, or maybe bill smith records.
aardvark has a full list of available plants.
theres also pirates press which uses a european plant which seems cool, i heard they do good prices but they dont list prices so you probably have to call or email for a quote. they have a cool blog of records

Yeah, Aardvark seems to be what most folks go to!
I am trying to get a 7" split done eventually... I was seriously planning to be READY to send a master last August... Oh hell naw...
It's much more complicated than I originally thought, but it's a really great learning experience... Still, there's so much left to do...
