Katana Sound Love

Hi. I thought bring this builder to the the attention of ILF as they make my current favorite two fuzzes
Web site: http://katanasound.hp.infoseek.co.jp/index.html
They are hand built in Soka Japan
I got them both from http://tonebendermusic.com/

The first one I got was the Supper Bass Fuzz http://katanasound.hp.infoseek.co.jp/products/superbassfuzz.html
Image [this is #005 :p ]
Clip with P bass http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=699327&songID=7467901

This became my main fuzz pedal for most fuzzy things but I still needed a muff type of fuzz for thicker stuff, I tried many pedals but hadn't found the one... intill...

I got the Thunder Cloud http://katanasound.hp.infoseek.co.jp/products/thundercloud.html

This just sits in the mix right with my rig and does what I want  Down the road I might try and get them to build a custom TC with a blend like the SBF, then it would be %100 perfect for my uses.

Both of the pedal are very well made [the pc boards are really something] and as I have said I LOVE the sound of them.

That all. I just thought I'd share.

Yah! :joy:

When I picked up the Super Bass Fuzz I thought "this is the closest I've ever come to beating the Malekko B:Assmaster," and then I tried it in a mix... nay. The champ remains Assified. But at my last practice I used this one almost the entire time, all but ignoring the Pink Babboon Ass right next to it. It doesn't cut through the same way, but still well enough, but it sits much better as an Always On type of thing. Other similar type fuzzes to this one that I've used (Attack Goat, Depth Charge) are too sproingy if that makes sense. Not so with this one, it's just god damn right.

So, I'd have to say that Katanasound fucking slays. Have tried any others besides these two? :)*

I have nothing but good things to say about Katanasound as well. :thumb: Mudfuzz inspired me to get a Super Bass Fuzz a while ago. It really does sound amazing! I certainly liked it better than the Attack Goat, as I had them at the same time and immediately sold my AG.
The Thunder Cloud with a clean blend definately sounds like that would be a killer!

I does. I a pinch for a gig I grabbed the TC and barge blender/loop and it did very well. I'd love to see then do one.

I'd say it's worth a try :idk: The TC runs about $219 over here.

For the record I like it for guitar better then bass [which I still really like] and if you've seen my board you'll know I have a GW in it's place on my board. But if I was going to down size my muff collection I'd keep the TC and my old green sovtek and be happy.

Is there a way to order direct from their website? Like just e-mail them?

I got both of mine from Tone Bender Music: their site is down for some reason.. Wouldn't help you anyway as you have to call and or e-mail for them anyway.

andy@ToneBenderMusic.com
ToneBenderMusic@rochester.rr.com

If you are not in the US you might want to buy from Japan or something, if so I have a few links if needed, but every Japanese site that sells their stuff that I have seen charges list...

I sent mudfuzz a PM about it, but I got a used thundercloud a week ago. #0003, has a slightly different graphic. Posted it in GAS, but wtf, it's on photobucket.

It was good on bass, but great with guitar, both downtuned and standard. Gets wicked raw fuzz when I back off the tone control on the pedal. And makes some fine speaker shredding chainsaw noise with a dwarfcraft passenger plane plus in front of it.

So thank you for the soundclips, one more time, mudfuzz!
