Sp. Aenima OF THE FUTURE. Pics P.3

Ok, so after building one, I see what Devi meant when she discontinued it. It's an awesome pedal, no doubt, but it takes a really long time and has a lot of expensive/strange parts.
So I'm forced to make changes, and here are some ideas.
1. Omit photo eye, SPAE stays at $200
2. Aenima remains the same, but price goes up to $250
3. This was actually Devi's suggestion, single stomp 4 knob 1 toggle fuzz only SPAE (maybe give it a new name) no loop, no eye, price goes down to $180
Change will be official/shipping as of January 1, 2010. In the meantime my SPAEs will still be full featured at $200.
Personally, I might go with option one or 3. I feel the fuzz circuit in SPAE is where it's at, with it's two modes and bazillion tones.
But what do you think?

I like the idea of slimming it down, but others would probably say otherwise since what makes the SP:AE so "spectacular" is the whole package with the photo-eye.

Personally I would say keep the feedback loop, but ditch the photo eye. That's only because I generally find the photo eye a pain to use in general. But fuzz + feedback loop is teh seks

I can't really attest to the SPAE but this statement is most definitely true.

SPAE =

Chainsaw trebley distortofuzz with a huge, FAT low end. And a chance to blend in random motorboating evilness with a feedback loop. That can be (more or less) controlled with a photo eye. It's such a sweet working mans factory of rawsomeness for a metal band /experimental bass player I'm afraid I'll brake strings for the sheer excitement when riffing through the songs!
I'd suggest You go for the adding some strobe lights and smoke devices, too!

But that's just my opinion, and I already got one, so...

The kegerator only comes with the smoke machine model... but you can try adding a kegerator to the feedback loop of a regular SPAE for some extra frothy tonez!

could the photo eye be replaced with an exp. pedal jack?

Trimming it seems the best, as it may be kinda like a whole new pedal...
I just had to vote for the smoke machine :/

Both of these would be more trouble than a photo eye. So, uh, no, sorry.

it's more complicated than just solder a jack instead of a photo eye ?

In a box with barely enough space for what's already in it? yeah, dude. It's a testament to Devi's engineering prowess that all that shit fits as it is.

I say cut the eye. I had one for a bit and never used it. The feedback loop is a must though! Otherwise it wouldn't be spectacular!

Less space than in the dream mangler ?
