velcro that doesn’t suck?

in the last few years the quality of generic velcro seems to have gotten markedly worse. the rolls that came with the last Pedaltrain i bought were not good…the fuzzy side sticks to the board, but the toothy side sticks to the other side better than its adhesive does to the backs of pedals. i just had to ShoeGoo(tm) the velcro back onto 3 pedals on the Normie board that came loose when it was stored standing on one end. i found brand-name velcro at Walmart that’s really good, but it only appears to come in patches about 3-3.5” square, which is great for pedal backs but certainly not for boards where IMO you really need long strips. anyone got a suggestion as to a reliable source for velcro that doesn’t suck?

i know there’s the 3M double-lock or whatever it’s called, but that seems like it might be too much when it often requires an artfully-employed butter knife to free standard velcro from itself. i want it to stay on, but not necessarily forever.

Plastic spackle spatula, I think from the paint aisle of the home store, or a plastic or wooden ruler should minimize risk to the finish of your pedals. I got a trade in with a lot of Dual-Lock on it and I wish I had been wise to this then.
Watching this thread, though. My stock of the decent hook & loop stuff I got with my board is out, and I've not stopped acquiring pedals . . .

i'm quite careful with the butter knife, and can tell between the sound and feel of velcro separating and velcro peeling off a pedal box.

i've tended to use the velcro brand heavy duty stuff that comes in big rolls. it's overkill in terms of the velcro sticking but the glue backing is much much better than the regular velcro.
