I recently heard this track http://www.imeem.com/people/Y6vdC/music/ZRXK09A7/jungle-brothers-j-beez-comin-trough/

Then realized it was copied by this track http://www.imeem.com/artists/clipse/music/-jzd_ILv/clipse-when-the-last-time/

Also the intro to the album Seeing Sound by NERD samples Bully the video game. NO CREDIT!

Any other rich uncrediting artist slip through the cracks?

Jay-Z putting Biggies lines in his verses. no credit.

Nirvana lifting that one riff on "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from the Pixies or whatever.

man this thread could be super-long easy.

:p

The Chorus of Cherub Rock was lifted from some Cheap Trick song.

But really what song isn't plagiarized? Lithium, Where is my mind, and say it ain't so have the same chords but sound pretty different. Its all good imo. :thumb:

From what I understand Led Zeppelin stole maaaaaad shit. Or at least that's what I heard. I know that The Lemon Song is a cover, and I've heard that they lifted riffs and shit from a bunch of other old blues dudes and shit like that.

but I still fucking love Led Zeppelin. mmmmmmmmmm riffz

There's a rap song that lifts the main riff from Dopethrone.

The Nirvana song you mean is Come as You Are, and the bass line is lifted from a Killing Joke song. I remember hearing that it was settled with minimum press for obvious reasons.

The most egregious to me was always Tupac's "California Love", which lifted its entire melody off of Joe Cocker's "Woman to Woman", thought I don't know if he ended up crediting him or not.

Coldplays' "Lovers in Japan" really reminds me of the Sigur Rós tune "Inní mér syngur vitleysyngur". Very similar lead-in, instrumentation, tempo. They were released around the same time tho so I can't say who lifted who or if it's just a bizarre coincidence.
