Here are some highlights:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NglaHTmuIYI
multitimbrality with 4 layers
20-voice of polyphony per layer
5000 grains in total on all four layers (4x more than GR-1)
128 grains per voice
5 engines: sampler, granular, tape mode, granular/sampler slice mode, and spectral
maximal sample length of 60 minutes – 3 minutes max in granular (polyphony restriction)
48kHz with 32 floating point
mono/stereo support
granular engine with various arp, loop, rate and spawn modes
3-voice phase vocoder with up to 8192 FFT size
12dB/oct LPF/HPF filters per voice
https://synthanatomy.com/2023/12/superb ... sizer.html

...I'm not sure that I see the viability of 4-part granular. It feels like a lot of textures will just cancel each other out. :idk: I'm intrigued to hear more demos though. :snax:

Dunlop/MXR dropped the first delay of '24 with the Joshua® at midnight. (80s rack delay tribute that can cop Edge or Gilmour's galloping repeats) It seems like something that would stack well with other delays. For SOS stuff, it'd be great for ambient textures at $240 street. I find it humorous that they trademarked the name...other than JS, I can't imagine too many people clamoring for the coveted Josh name.

From demos, it appears you can do freakout stuff without blowing up your amp...

Flower Pedals will be begin shipping a robust dual analog delay in February. It's priced at $499, but I imagine there will be a couple of sales in '24 for those who are wanting a smaller footprint feature-laden analog delay.

I dig both of those stylophone devices. The theremin would be fun for performance.

holy shit, you can do fake Ondes Martinot with that thing?

i preordered the theremin. i'll probably regret it all in the morning (h/t Richard Thompson), but that looks like a potential add-on to the Mothership.

I've seen the clips. I've listened. This thing sounds good to me.

Hopefully these will be made in sufficient numbers so that at some point I have the money and opportunity to buy one all at the same time.

My breath ain't for holding.

Beetronics unveils a tropicália-inspired fuzz, which is a bit of an homage to the DIY fuzz units utilized by bands like Os Mutantes. ($289 list, but I'd estimate more like $180+ on the secondhand market, and there are other similar fuzzes being made by small companies)

Everyone needs a copy editor. Unless this fuzz pedal really has a "flavor" based on polenta.

If they were trying to spell "Pollen" they should have taken a poll amongst a group of copy editors and proofreaders.

But alas. Polenta it is.
