is it possible to mod a looper to extend loop time?

pretty much what it says on the tin. i started looping on the Akai Head Rush 2, and i've never found another looper i'm as comfortable with. unfortunately, the maximum loop length is too short to do much other than the static built-up loops i was doing a decade (aaaaaaack!) ago. i know this is probably impossible, but is there any way to have a looper modified (no way i'm trying to do this myself!) by swapping or adding chips or some other method in order to extend the loop time in the way one might do to a delay?

digdugDIY had a modified Headrush 2 awhile back, but it was more of an extension of the OG build, a la PT/delay chip manipulation, so you'd lose fidelity but gain a little more time, which is probably not 100% what you're after.

Apart from buying another Headrush (ha ha, hee hee), if you aren't using the multiple outs (which is what that machine does so well), you'd probably do better to find a recent, cheaper alternative with all the time you'd need, instead.

the lack of any information about longest available loop time would keep me from ordering that. i figured it was hopeless. problem is, as noted i don't like any of the other loopers i've tried. please don't suggest the boomerang because i'm not paying that much.

:hello:

i may not have put the info in the listing but the new extended delay // loop time is easy to figure out

the extended time is fully adjustable (and user adjustable w/ the pot)

just how much loop time r u after?

generally speaking u can usually get these things to go pretty far
like double, triple maybe even quadruple the time potentially
just depends on the device

if u are ever interested in exploring or talking about it more hit me up
i can def get u way more loop time
and yes the headrush is a lovely pedal & looper
one of my faves for sure

Digitech Jam Man can do loops of like 10 minutes or something haha. Only downside is that they are discontinued and the software editor is pretty janky. If you're only using it for live looping then that won't really matter though. The software is just for loading pre-recorded loops from your computer.
