What to use for micing/preamp?

I have about €63 in my Paypal at the moment and I was thinking I should finally get a decent mic preamp/AD converter. I don't need anything too fancy but obviously something a lot better than my laptop has. What do you suggest?

Apogee Duet is pretty nice for that price point. Or a MOTU Ultralite mk3 if you want to spend more on more IO

I'm interested in this as well - my bandmate has a motu 896 mk1 that we use for recording, but that's WAYYYYYY more than I need for home use. I've been using my Line 6 Bass Pod XT for recording stringed things, but one of these days I'm going to need to record vox, and I'd like something more appropriate for that...

i'm a big fan of M Audio's USB products. Preamps even sound decent in 'em as well. I used one on my rekkerd....

i've got this one:

i've also used a Delta 1010 in the past but that has no built in preamps. in my experience, these two interfaces have "just worked." no real hassle or learning curve. i've also used other interfaces in the past, a creamware in particular that i was VERY excited about on paper, and didn't have nearly the same ease of use.

Did you use 'em on the vocals? Because I've heard that rekkerd, and the vocals definitely sound good...

Nice! Sold! At least for me - I don't know what Rose requires, but that thing looks like it's got all the bells and whistles I'd need.
