I realise that you've all been sat on the edge of your seats for the last year or so, desperately wondering if Mushrooms in Shampoo would release another banging Summer album of slammin' choons'n'beats, and I am happy to let you all know that you can indeed breathe out now, and yes, we've released our ninth album! It's available in digital and ultra limited, mega collectible physical (CD-R) form Get it while it's hot, get it while it's fresh! The physical version is hand made from photo print outs cut out and glued to recycled card covers with CD-Rs inside and is posted in a protective envelope made from recycled card that contains no plastic so is completely recycleable. Cover painting is by me. It's the first time we've tried making physical copies of our records, so it'll be interesting to see what people think.
In case anyone is worrying, Amidst the Ox Eyes refers to the tall flowers that can be seen on the cover of the CD - this isn't some reference to a strange noise/death metal satanic ritual involving parts of dead animals... this recording is vegan friendly
(for everyone one else wondering what the hell I'm jabbering about - it's a selection of our latest instrumental folktronica guitar/synth/other instruments melodic harmonic tracks about landscapes, flora and fauna and nostalgia)
Thanks for reading, feel free to pimp anything about it on your social media!
Regards
Martin and Alexander

Looks sweet, though I'm content with digital things.
Bandcamp Friday is back next month, so added to my Bandcamp Friday shopping list!

Soon is now apparently. I'm enjoying these nice sounds while I drink coffee and start working in the morning. What's the guitar sound on "Listening to Longwave" do you remember? It's a really nice modulated reverb/delay.

Thanks very much I don't often get the time to paint anything; and I was quite pleased with how well that came out. Listening to Longwave was recorded in November 2020, I had to dig through a lot of files and finally found what I think is the set up for it:
The signal goes into a Comet Filter pedal, which is a customised version of a Comet Twin T filter - my version has one fixed wah and one slowly moving wah that cycles through the audio spectrum and removes frequencies - the twin T filter is a very hard filter that cuts all sound over a very narrow range - I made a video about it here if you're interested in building one There's a link to the layout I drew in the notes on that page.
After that it goes into a Digi Delay that is quite subtle - on Tape mode, short delay length but many repeats that blur together and then the whole mess goes into a PH3 Phase Shifter set to be really slow - I think the Depth on the phaser was much weaker on this track - I recorded a few tracks at the same time and only kept one photo. The recording does have some EQ in DAW to remove the lowest and highest frequencies (and also a slight dip around 200hz for some reason) and then a compressor which adds a bit of subtle distortion that now that I listen to it again makes me think I should've turned that off! Amazingly I didn't add any reverb to the track! I'm pretty sure the guitar was on the neck pickup with the higher frequencies rolled off for a more wooly / softer sound.

Oh wow that is in depth! Thanks. Twin filter is very cool, I guess this is where the modulation is coming from, based on that video.
Keeping tone notes is very sensible, I never do this and then occasionally record a demo that I can never recreate because the sound is a mystery

Sorry for disappointing you Goroth, I just didn't want anyone to get the idea that each track might descend into an onslaught of 5 HM2's arranged in a pentagram with a black candle amidst that! Hey maybe that would make a great pedal board for I Love Doom?
