Thoughts? Never owned the OG Speaker Cranker, so I can't speak on how it stacks up. It sounds coolish, but idk if it would be a contender for my OD-1's spot. Looks cool I guess?

They dropped 100 of these for the Japanese market about a year ago, and I imagine a lot of people forgot about those, because they weren't going to pay some asshole in Asia $900 for an Electra clone. These are priced at $99.
I wonder if that's the first ever factory-produced guitar pedal demo to showcase their pedal with soft synths. Honestly, I can't ever recall software+pedals in a builder's official promo/demo. Effects plugins + hardware is becoming more common in demos, but I can't remember soft synths + delay pedals or distortions.

The guitar sounds don't wow me but I doubt it'd sound anything like that through my rig anyways.
Sounds great with drums and synths, though? Seems to preserve a lot of detail.
Tempting for the price, even just as a utility ped to have lying round.

So it's like the entire Lovepedal line in one box?
original speaker cranker did sound good, but it was just an electra. what made the eqd pedal special was the gimick of the single gain knob. all these extra features just turn it into another electra clone

It could definitely be the first to publicly use softsynths. But there's probably some demos from big-name brands with softsynths and even softguitars that don't list the sound sources.

So is this the pedal the Speaker Cranker was based on? I never heard of Electra pedals before.
No, that's a different design. This is based off the single stage drive circuit found in some Electra guitars. Lovepedal basically made their who drive line off this basic gain stage. Our own Mellowtone had the Melx back in the day...many others.

Thanks for the info. Nice to know the history, even if its a HARD FUCKIN PASS for me.

the original electra was a cartridge you plugged into the guitar. Though i think there are people who claim the electra distortion wasn't an electra distortion but something else. idk
btw bp, tell me about your od-1! i've wanted to try one for a while now but so pricey. i tried making one but fried something so i never really got to hear it

Oh its great! Even if they're like $300 used, I'd still get one and may get a few more in the future just because of how much I like the one I have now. Its very mid focused with not a lot of low end, which is why I think most people use it as a boost. But turning down the drive and turning the volume up pushes amps into this early 2000's black parade ass, tight riffy ass crunch thats really sick and brings out a lot of clarity into whatever you put after it, which I do all the time. I cant use anything else now because other drives sound too low end heavy to me. Every time I try something new its just not the same.
If you can build a good clone/get one for cheap do it. I think out of all the pedals I have its the one I absolutely cant live without. Worth the cost of admission. Tho I would like to know whats a good clone so I dont have to tour with an OG.
