Gagan Wah….Dang it’s GOOD

Post by Deltaphoenix »

What’s up Fuzz Fam? I have been playing a wee bit more guitar and bass than I have over the past few years (well, more guitar than ever because Bass has been thing forever). I have been scooping up old pedals that I sold off for modular for a bit so pretty happy in general with my pedals but I decided I need a dope Wah for my guitar board that I am putting together. On my bass board, I use an IE Xero DLX with expression pedal for sweeps so I thought I would go in a very different direction. I did a wee bit of research, decided Gagan was worth a try but debated myself a bit on which Wah to go with as there are a couple of cool options and landed on a Maestro Boomerang clone (Faux Boomer  ). Damn! It’s described as a very “vocal” Wah which translates to me as wide range and intense peak. I tried it out with my EBMM guitar into Megalith fuzz >Wah into an Orange Rocker 32 and what a wild monster! It was almost tough to handle the high end but in a band setting, it would be amazing.
I decided to try it out on my bass (Dingwall Super J 4 >megalith >Wah<Ampeg pf-50t>15” cab) and then it got really fun as this Wah has a ton of lows and this may be may bass Wah for an upcoming recording project. These guys have dip switches so there are settings to allow more bass through do I am going to play around tonight.
I want to try out the Wah on guitar with other gain/fuzz pedals too. BUT I could see myself getting the Musonic clone that Gagan offers as well for guitar as it is supposed to be a big sweet spot (less extreme than this Boomer). Either way, what an awesome addition to my music lair! Anyone else rocking one of Joe’s pedals? (By the way, super nice guy in my experience)

I would guess so, but, if you're wantin' a great soundin' wah, don't let that stop you. :idk:

 Joe still owes it to me. I'm not holdin' my breath.

To be fair, he did send me a clone of the Musonic in my preferred enclosure as a placeholder. :idk:

Ha, didn’t know about the personal views of the builder (still don’t really) but I’m still digging this Wah. I have played with the dip switches a bit. Cool, useable & handy.
