Like, I know everyone has the usual ILF faves and sleepers from the big companies, but what are the square, boring, and forbidden from ILF pedals on your boards?
I have a Strymon El Capistan and a couple of JHS pedals on mine. (Lucky Cat and Cheese Ball)

Mostly because I've never got round to seeing what things sound like without it, my pedal chain begins with a Vox Tonelab ST set to just a small amount of compression, no amp or cab modelling.

I'm in the process of getting rid of it, but I do have a Behringer EM600 Echo Machine that I think is pretty great, despite the Behringer hate (it's warranted in a lot of cases, and I don't think I'd ever buy a new Behringer product). The tape modulation on it is way better than the modulation on the Line 6 Echo Park, and it's got some fun quirky settings.

i always have a way huge overdrive which isn't trendy or cool at all, and it's only there because i can never turn up my non-master-vol amps to get crunchy at all, which is v uncool.
the pedal i feel least cool for using is actually the echo dream. it's this expensive bougie echo box but it sounds so fucking great. i would love to just have a boss/ehx board but my mind was long ago poisoned.

BOSS I guess

I think BOSS is cool though so maybe I'm not aiming uncool enough.

Boss is cool, in my book. Plus, who else would make the Tuners, EQs, and the such we need? I couldn't survive without an EH-2 to follow my Hizumitas and Cheese Ball.

Line6 MM4 is probably very uncool but I like it. It sounds good, is versatile and easy to handle.

I was going to say the same thing - I like my Boss stuff but it doesn’t have a “cool” reputation but I thought about it more and I think perception of Boss has really turned around in the last 10 years or so, you used to see classified ads for boutique pedals that said “no Boss please” as a firm dealbreaker and now people seem to give them more respect.
That being said the “always on my board” DD7 and GEB-7 probably aren’t “cool” but they are indispensable to me.
I also just looked and my board is the Boss EQ, Boss DD7, Boss looper and now the Boss SY-200 so I’m basically like a Boss shill at this point. And then I’m my plastic tubs I have the CS-2 (cool), PH-2 (cool because Kim Gordon used one), ODB-3, HM-2 (cool), HM-3 (not cool but also actually cool) and a Metal Zone (very cool).
This is a cool thread for cool people.

I have two One Control switchers on my board - one is a single bypass loop that lets you have tails on whatever is in it, and the other is a fancy A/B switch thing. They are like the key to me being able to play live, and I would gladly swap out other pedals on my board for sub-optimal choices if I could keep them. The build quality is amazing, the feel when you click the switches is perfect. They are the best.
But how cool is it saying your favourite pedals are switchers, and one of the best features is the feel of the click?

Mosky, Tomsline, Sonicake, Mooer, Hotone. Even rockin' a Donner tele up in here. Utilitarian bliss.
The Twinote Boogie is a pretty shit recto pedal on its own, but goose it with the Silver Horse or 250 and it's

I also pick MechaGodzilla's way huge overdrive. No but probably the Way Huge Pork Loin because it's just a very nice low gain overdrive with a crisp attack and I use it for the same reason.
Or a BF-3 which I sometimes use instead of my Moog flanger.

My immediate reaction was the entity attached to the foot that attempts to operate such madness.
But really it is probably the computer. Yes, on the board. And a Windows10 PC at that.
