As a Space Echo (tape) owner, this is the ONLY unit I've ever played that's even remotely in the ballpark as the pre-amp is correct and that's a huge portion of the sound.

Honestly, I could see them bringing the RE-20 back as a 2.0 with onboard presets. Considering how much Roland loves to recycle their greatest hits, it's hard to see them totally moving on from the Space Echo.

The DD-200/500 don't have the all-important preamp.

It's like doing an Echoplex without the 'plex preamp.

i honestly thought they'd already discontinued them. i haven't seen one as cheap as mine was in ages (i paid about 100£ about five years ago). great delay. i also have and LOVE the frv1!

Waza unit on the way perhaps? Got one on craigs for $225 right now, but there's too much other great stuff in that range to justify it (ymmv).

I'd have hoped for a Waza 301 - put the proper analog chorus in it too, add sound on sound.

Are you sure they are discontinued?…because sweetwater got bought out and are out of a lot of things. Not sure this is proof.

I also wonder if a Waza or 200 series is coming. I don’t think this would hold its value then?….it’s hyuuuge.

Speaking of the FRV-1, I remember Sam Ash here had a few for 99 bucks when they were being blown out. I almost bought one as I heard they were good, but not so good with dirt and kinda bright so I passed. Ugggh. I usually don’t have flipping on the mind anyhow unless it’s just to help me be able to afford on for myself by getting two of them.

I didn't realize they had omitted that. If I used words like sin, then that would be an egregious sin.
