What do you guy think of it? Just a worse Wolfcomputer/FF? I had one like a 1000 years ago and used it to shit in my teenagey stöner band. Ruined every song I used it on. Made them sound too industrial and it made my basss out of tune most of the time :thumb: I did always struggle with the output level though. Albeit I was like 19 so I knew jack about gainstaging and boring shit like that. Also my only other dirt was a swollen pickle which is to dirn loud! Sometimes I miss it though. The song I let it wail all the way through never sounded the same without it and iirc the gated mode was pretty neat. What do you guys think? Is it worth revisiting just for the pill-tainted nostalgia?

Also talk about the worst layout of a pedal ever! Nevercould fit it comfortably on my board

DBA stuff LOOKS cool, which makes me want to use it. but close your eyes and listen...then youre right, wolfCpu/FF derivative

Yeah I think it is a very similar thing to both. Probably more similar to the wolf cpu since its silicon and not as treble focused as the ff. more knaabz tho and the gate toggle (which should have been a footswitch CAM ON ackerman!)

I had both the Fuzz Gun and the Wolf Computer for a hot minute tenish years ago. I remember really liking the sound of the fuzz gun, but I had similar output problems. Though, the problem I’ve had with every single DBA pedal I’ve had is they’ve all been too quiet. It didn’t really seem derivative of either the Fuzz Factory or the Wolf Computer. Based on what I understand, the Fuzz Factory is a Fuzz Face that’s been transformed into a monster fuzz. The Wolf Computer is conceptually the same idea but with an Electra Fuzz. I have no idea what the Fuzz Gun is based on, but it didn’t quite sound like either from what I remember.

(I could be completely wrong about the Fuzz Factory and Wolf Computer circuits. I don’t know shit about electronics, so, if it’s true it’s something I would’ve read on some random forum forever ago.)

In simplified terms...

Fuzz Factory - beefed up germanium Fuzz Face, with an additional silicon booster up front. Plus knobs.

Wolf CPU - silicon Fuzz Face, with a silicon booster up front. Plus knobs.

There's more to it, but yeah...As for thee Electra thing, that was a base for some other Mellowtone goods (Melx, Singing Tree, etc)

I like the Fuzz Gun and the Wolf Computer for sizzle-glitch. They can cover similar sonic territory; FG maybe slightly less harsh?.. Not sure I would use either as a mainstay to build a tone around. Only reason I have a FG is a used deal. Appreciate the overhead in Brooklyn, but gah.

The Fuzz Gun is fun. It rhymes, so you know it's true. While it has a similar topography (?) to the Wolf Computer and FF, I think it has a sound of its own. Felt heavier somehow, though that might just be the look of it influencing how I played it.

They still use my demo of it on their site, so there's that too.
