80s boomer musical atrocities

Some truly horrendous stuff got made by respectable legacy artists or bands. I had the misfortune of hearing this piece of dreck streaming a radio station that is generally much better than this—this song is bad and they should feel bad.

What else should be named and shamed?

I agree much.
Now I know Have blamed the eagles for the fall of western civilization but that is nothing compared to this.
If I have to pick a 5 most hated song list this would be on it.

I hear you, but it’s not like it’s substantially worse than anything Eagles.
Whereas I would say this, put out by Jefferson Airplane members, should get someone extradited to The Hague, if you get my drift.

that's not worse than "We Built This City," but that's not exactly a recommendation.
this is the point where i, and everyone else with ears and a pulse, should have given up on the Grateful Dead:

I very much enjoy a lot of Lou Reed's songs.
This is not one of them.

like Guns & Roses, you needed a second slash:

that whole Airplane guys try to go punk era was really embarrassing. the "sequel" to Blows Against The Empire was fecking hideous, and Jorma's attempted punk band White Gland was even worse. and then there was the Airplane reunion album, which had one good song ("Solidarity") if i'm being generous. thank God Dino Valenti didn't have an 80s project, or i might have killed myself before we got to 1990.

I was thinking of throwing out the “Dylan & the Dead” album as a twofer.

yeah. i saw that tour in Oakland. the Dead were OK, but the Dylan/Dead set was utterly lifeless, deader than Lenin's corpse.

speaking of people who should go to The Hague, i nominate whoever it was that told Robbie Robertson he could or should sing.

...or rod stewart for that matter
but steve winwood didn't do too badly in the 80s, considering. certainly less embarrassing than the likes of stones/rod/clapton/etc.
