when i cranked up my pedalboard after its most recent revision, i was distressed to find that my Randy's Revenge has gone wonky. it passes signal when bypassed, but only emits a faint buzzing when engaged regardless of settings. so i thought i'd try to see if the folks at Fairfield would look at it for me. i emailed them, and within TWO MINUTES they responded that they'd be happy to take a look and gave me detailed instructions on how to send it to comply with Canadian customs regulations. i've never seen that kind of customer care from ANYONE, and certainly not from any pedal builder. i'm just thrilled and delighted that there's a builder who cares that much, and wanted to tell you so you know they really do stand behind their products. as you were.

Yep they are great. I mean I’ve never had to deal with their customer service but the Unpleasant Surprise and Randy’s Revenge are big time favourites around here.

I asked which knobs they use so I could buy replacements for the Unpleasant Surprise I bought from the bst - it had some other knobs on it for some reason, and they just sent me new knobs (to Sweden) free of charge.

when the Fairfield tour box went around about a century ago i said in my review that if i had the guts to leave everything i knew behind i'd get rid of all my other shit and just use Fairfield stuff for everything other than options they didn't cover (e.g. echo, flanging, massive reverb, long delay times). if i was funded to spend another $1200-1500 on potentially redundant boxes i might just take myself up on that.

Always wanted an The Accountent compressor. Even ordered one, but it got lost on the mail
If there werent so pricey in the EU, I'd probably have a Barbershop OD in my board as my always on drive pedlol.
Seance wrote:I've been interested in trying a Barbershop, Meet Maude, Unpleasant Surprise, etc.
I have all three of these, though the Barbershop is a clone.
They are all fucking excellent.
The maude is hard to get the levels exactly right for live use - I find it easy to accidentally get a wee bit above or below unity, so it's gone from my live board. But it is still amazing.

I only ever owned a Randy's revenge (which sadly I sold quite quickly for various reasons) but always felt their stuff is underrated. Cool to read there's good people behind the cool pedals too!
