Is this knob virtually useless, or am I doing something wrong?

It's normal for it to be minimal. I think I picked a setting on day one and never looked back.
Bass/Treble
Adjusts the EQ of the delay signal. Just like in original Echorec machine, this effect is subtle, changing from darker to brighter.
I don't have an Echosex2 anymore, but I think it was similar.

"Subtle" is an understatement. I really can't hear a difference, which is a pity. It might be the only thing (other than form factor) that I prefer about the CB Echorec, but it might be enough that I switch back.

Thanks!

Even cranked all the way down it sounds pretty bright to me.
