Is there such a thing as a consistent glitch pedal?

I've been wanting to get a pedal that glitches, like the catalinbread discman or the KOG mini glitch but are they consistent with their glitchiness? is it possible to set these (or any other that someone could recommend) to glitch at the same point consistently? Understanding that glitches are (or were) intended to be random, is there a pedal that I can control when the glitch happens? Or would using a combination of pedals achieve this in a simulated glitch sound?

isn't that something of a contradiction in terms?

I don't really know, but I just learned that the Generation Loss V2's wow and flutter are not constant like on V1, they appear and disappear randomly. Which made me think maybe I could simulate that effect with my Arcades by having the Wow controlled by an EHX 8-Step, with seven steps at zero and one bumped up to whatever level, cycling randomly. And if it wasn't cycling randomly, you'd get a Wow every eight beats. I haven't tried it yet, though.

Do you mean that you want glitches re-triggering automatically at even intervals?
I'm not sure the CSIDMAN or Mini Glitch would work for that.
MASF Possessed or Hexe Revolver would be the go, but it would be a shameful under-utilization of either

yeah it's the one place the possessed doesn't really deliver on the promise of utter chaos, the glitch effect is too consistent. it should be on a soft touch switch really.

If you had the Csidman or a similar pedal in a loop, you could manually fade it in with an expression pedal.
The only way I could get the Csidman to work for my needs was to insert it in the FX loop of a Rubberneck. It was too abrasive and harsh with terrible volume spikes, but I quite liked it, when it was only on the repeats.

Doesn't the Malekko Charlie Foxtrot do that?

A looper with preloaded glitch sounds?

I haven't tried to make any patches yet, but from what's been made so far you might be able to do it with a Zoia.

When I contacted David Rolo to ask him to make me a glitch pedal (that turned into Stammen), that was one of my wishes. All of the versions of the pedal since have had a tap tempo stutter. So, maybe that one, unless you want a different kind of glitchy effect, of course.

Intersting. I need to look into the Stammen. I was watching a video on the blooper and how you can change the tempo of a looped part without effect pitch and I thought, can I have a glitch pedal where I can dial in a setting and have the glitch at a consistent point every time. I like the randomness and fully understand that glitches are intended to be random but in this day and age why not want a controllable glitch?
I was also thinking if it was possible to create a faux glitch with a few different pedals.. like chaining a delay into a slightly longer slap back setting delay into another? or maybe a tremolo added into the mix?

Yep, I use the Charlie Foxtrot for this sort of thing. You can set the threshold to trigger glitches over a certain dynamic level, and then if you want to just use them at particular times, you can use an expression pedal to control that function. So you could leave the pedal on, set the expression pedal under the trigger point, and then nudge the expression pedal up whenever you want it to freak.

I thought so. I don't have one. But I was looking for one for a while.
This shows a setting where the threshold for triggering allows for strums.

I can't find any videos with somebody using the expression pedal.

I'll see if I get a chance to make a quick one in the next few days...
My big gimmick with the CF pedal is using it along with a Freeze or Superego pedal--I get it to glitch, and then freeze a microfragment of the glitch and try to switch up my playing to follow along with that, glitch/freeze again, etc etc. It takes you in in some interesting directions!
