Has anybody here tried one of them? Seems like a pretty cool octave pedal cause it does a 5th down. There is very little about them and they seem rarer than most performers. I just wanna know what they are like

Don't those have some odd power supply thing, or was it the models before it?
still.. an analog 5th would be interesting.. I remember liking the "normal" octoplus.. but I don't think I have ever really not liked any analog octaver...

I've had a bunch of the things..

Yeah, 18v with a 1/4" plug. Most moronic design ever

The Parasit Studio U-235 also does a 5th down. It's a very clean and loud octaver with a CV input.

I have the KORG KOT-401 Octave V, which is among my personal Top-3-effects. It offers individual distortion for any mode - it's an enormously cool and versatile beast! 1 OCT UP is a fuzz with great harmonics when played polyphonic.
It also offers a 1.5 OCT DOWN effect, which is 19 semi-tones below the original signal, thus making it a kind of fifth down effect.
It's not really useful! A fourth down mode had been a lot nicer, but I think that the analogue technology simply didn't offer that. A fourth down had sounded like power chords. A fifth down is very irritating, except if you immediately start playing your melody lines five semi-tones lower when engaging the effect. Otherwise it would sound as if you are playing in a wrong key.
Unfortunately there seems to be no demo of the Performer Octoplus at YouTube, so I cannot guarantee that it will behave in the same way.

Like I said, the U-235 does it (in addition to -1 / -2) and is analog. In fact you can tune the detuned voice via an internal trimpot.

Not sure if this is an analog-only thread. If not, the Boss HR-2 is a compact 9V unit that does various intervals up and down on two voices with (at least flashes of) intelligent pitch tracking and has a moderately nice detune available too. Sounds digital but responds well to dirt. Always surprised it doesn't get more love.

Guess cause it's intelligent? People don't seem to like intelligent octamizers unless you play like def lepperd idk. I dig 'em! I guess it's an analog only thread cause I'm asking about the dod. Kinda just curious if it's just a fifth or a 1:2:3 divivision (one 13th down) like the kork pepe posted. The HOG with spectral gate and filter set to murky would probably be the closest to an oc-2/octaplus etc sounding 5th down
btw isnt the hr2 a killer killer chorus? htink ive heard that

Woah this is crazy! Had never heard of it. Used to dig my regular octoplus.

Sorry for intelligent digital hijack. The HR2 does 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths octs which puts it squarely in ambient/folk tonality unless you set it for keys outside the one you're playing in. I've fantasized an HR-2a variant that drops the 6ths in favour of major or minor sevenths (+/- 10 or 11 semitones) based on whatever maths is reponsible for the 3rds, but Boss didn't call me up yet. Too bad.
Killer chorus? Not really, tho having two separate detune voices gives you lots of options. I do have a killer application, albeit pretty niche. Um...
If you play 8str solid electric mandolin, you learn pretty quickly that the bass response is disappointing. Solid 12-string guitars can sound mighty, but something about the short scale length makes even a heavily-strung e-mando underwhelming. BUT if you route your eg FM-988 through an HR-2 with one voice set one octave down and the other on detune, it really really comes to life. I had mine on permanently all the time I was playing mando. True story.

The BOSS PS-3 with its dual detune mode is the "killer killer chorus" you are talking about, qersty.

Though detune doesn’t wobble in a Boss pedals or the Digitech pedals I know, Eventide pedals with MicroPitch can modulate the amount of detuning. Which is closer to a conventional chorus while still being different.
5th down (or up) in analog is a rarity. PLL techniques at play?

Maybe. Though was that a thing before Schumann did it? As I understood he went to hell and back to make it track a guitar. I'm wondering if it may be divided by three then going into an octave up circuit
