Everyone is just talking about how gear will affect your guitar playing, but few are talking about how gear can literally kill you in a thousand different ways, including:
1. Battery leaks
2. Electrocution
3. Losing the will to live
4. severe foot pain, amputation, death
5. extreme ear fatigue/infections
5100 S Eastern Ave. in Los Angeles.
Recognize that address? You should. It's the U.S. headquarters of Roland Corporation.
See what's over there just a block away? A massive military compound, including national guard and even a high level Naval Operations Command Center.
Wake up. Educate yourself.
It's time to understand the full scope of the danger represented by gear: government/military surveillance, globalist sterilization efforts/population control, etc.

Being stung to death by strings terminal parts left too long on the tuning keys is also a possibility.
I got close a couple of times.

you could ask Keith Relf or Les Harvey about item 2, but they're both dead from item 2. thank your lucky stars that you live in a world where amps no longer have 2-conductor cords and a ground switch. i took a couple of zaps in the 70s which could have welded my tooth fillings together had i any. if you played in a room with substandard wiring there was the constant risk that it would be the last gig you ever did.

i once heard a likely-apocryphal story Leo Kottke told on a WGN-TV noontime chat show in the early 70s about someone who was playing 12-string guitar and broke a bass string which cut his throat. so you might want to add that to the hypotheticals.

I've died from spontaneous combustion before.

One time I opened up my Peavey Bass IV to give it a good cleaning and it was full of spiderwebs. The spider was gone! Logically it stands to reason that it crawled inside my brain and has laid eggs inside my optic nerve.
Anyway I vacuumed out the amp and cleaned the pots and it sounds great.

and let's not forget the weather-driven collapses of stage scaffolding which rendered Curtis Mayfield quadraplegic, and killed Radiohead's drum tech in Toronto a few years back. and for fuck's sake, never invite the Hell's Angels to your festival.
