It's a bit of a relief that I never met anyone I admired.

i'm truly grateful--no pun intended--that i never met Jerry Garcia, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, or Neil Young. all of them were brutally broken humans with a long, long list of foolishness, depravity, and self-abnegation to one or another degree. i would, however, still like to meet Brix...i know she'll never let me down.

losing Budd is a tough one. not quite as bad as it will be to lose Eno, but right up there. we're getting to the point where many of the important creatives of the 80s/90s are now dying, and there's no one coming up to replace them with anything like their beauty and dignity. dark days for creative music that isn't "jazz" or "rock."
