"Themed" pedal boards

This is in general because fuck you, dorks.
With that said, I fully dig my main board. I don't want to change anything.
But every now and then I get this almost obsessive idea to swap out everything and have a monochrome board. Like the other day, I saw Brian had these freaking sick pink top mount Minis. And I was like sheeeeiiiitttt, now I have to find swap out all my other pedals for pink pedals if I get that. Same thing happened when I saw a blacked out SNK VHD or whatever it is called. The VH140c preamp pedal. I was like maaaaaaan, I gotta get that, and then swap everything else out so it's all black. I mean, I've used my Elements since 2012 and it is literally the last pedal I would swap for anything... but still every now and then these impulses turn up. The worst of it is I think I'm even partially convinced it'll sound better if all my pedals are the same colour.
Does anyone else get stupid gear thoughts like this?
I've been shitposting a lot, but this is an actual non-shitpost, but you know, all's fair in love and forums, so ah, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the... thread

It would be an insanely first world/late capitalism thing to actually do, but I'd be lying if I said no.
Excessively curated monothematic boards are the future.
Would love to model one on an actual city block /// lurid weeb village.

Even with a lockdown and nowhere to go and no bands to play in I still dream of splurging for a second power supply so I can make two completely different boards depending on my mood.... a noise board with trashy effects and a “nice” board with my vintage muff, analog delays, classy ring mods.....
So not “colour” themed but “genre” themed.....

I think the problem with the whole idea of a themed board is it's fine if you only have simple needs that a majority od pedal variants would work for but if you are edging toward pedals that are there to help in operation of the sound AND they are old or weird things then to theme like your inner cosplayer you would have to or have someone rehouse/repaint all your shit... even if your theme is raw industrial that would take a lot of time or money...
Themed board for a music style... so if you are a bloozTGPdood it's TS>Klone>TS>FF> ? even when most of the real blues people didn't use pedals? or well that's the problem.. how do you theme for most music when most people just use what ever gear they need and everyone is different so... and only dweeddorknerbgeeks that live on the internets would even notice

I had an all black/monochrome board once. It felt good and won BILF

I never really think about this. But I guess I think it looks cool when other nerds do it.

Step one: buy the color/pattern of gaffer’s tape you like
Step two: cover all pedals with tape
Then you have a monochromatic board.

i get the exact same-but-reversed feeling when i have two pedals of the same color: swap out everything to have each pedal colored differently.
Monochrome boards are cool though.

I get that too
It’d be fine if it was just an aesthetic thing. But I can’t shake the feeling that the board will magically be “complete” and also sound better.

Don't start me man!
I could do this too! But then I'd have to flip my newer stuff.

Didn't he flip it?
I wonder if his tone got better or worse?
And where is that guy anyway?
