Fuzz Friends Mutual Sample Library

Hey
I was scouring the internet for juuust the right drum samples and I simply did not find what I was looking for. We have probably all been there, where we are looking for something for our specific purposes but all the available samples are for less niche types of music, hiphop or techno or whatever.
Shortly after, in the shower, I had the idea that I should perhaps just pose the question in the "SHOW ME YOUR DRUMS"-thread for someone to slam the snare as hard as they can so I can have some usable snare samples. But then I cracked this idea instead: what if we made a fuzzbreaux sample repository where people can request samples and have them uploaded in ~~somewhere~~ and we can all share and enjoy the things. We all make music, a lot of us make similar music, I thought.
So how would we go about this? What are the best options for a mutual sample library where we can have our own little pool of cool shit we wanna share with eachother?
Also maybe it isn't a good idea and nobody is excited about this
(Also most importantly, can a drummer please record some good samples for me?)

I like to sample stuff, but I tend to be fairly protective of the sounds I build from scratch.
That said, bog standard stuff like sampling drum machines/misc does not fall into the realm of "sound design" in my mind, so I'd be happy to contribute stuff like that, as it will also give me the self serving avenue of running sounds through RMA circuits/etc.
So if a repository is built, I'd be happy to upload some random hits, so long as no one is after my sweaty hammer work.

Not what you're asking for, but I have used quite a lot of samples from here -
https://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/fr ... o-download
They might be no use at all but just in case they are (I haven't downloaded any for quite a while so I'll be having a look myself in a bit) I thought it worth letting you know.

I would be interested in this. I like using samples, I like making samples. I'm in. IDK what platform would work.

There is potential that I could be motivated to record single hits from my drummer's set in my basement. But, ugh, the work involved.
Spoiler alert: I am lazy, forgetful of projects like this, and often distracted/overwhelmed by other things in life.

I am definitely interested in this and will potentially add some samples.
Or, more likely, I'll just steal samples to use

That's a good idea.
If we're talking about samples in general I'd be down to add some of my samples.
If we're talking about drum samples I'd be down to record some samples in our rehearsal room.
If we're talking about very-well-recorded-drum-samples I don't think I have the right stuff to do it.
As far as the platform goes, I don't know:
Dropbox shared folder could be an option, I don't have experience with that.
Google Drive would work but we know it has its space limits.
A shared SoundCloud account wouldn't work as it has only single accesses iirc, so it would be a problem for multiple-user uploads.
BTW we're rehearsing tonight and we have some decent mics for drums, if there's time I'll try to record some snare hits, do you have any particular needs except "really hard" ?

Also, this thread makes me remember how much I want a sampler, I'm heading back to the sampler thread to see what the cheaper-than-Digitakt options were

I made a dropbox shared folder for now, and we can see how that works out. The positive with that is that you get 15gb of free space to use yourself amongst all your projects, so say a massive folder wouldn't force me to pay a subscription to keep this going.
Here is the link:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hz3f2i6t85n4 ... H54na?dl=0
Anyone with the link can access the folder, but unfortunately not edit it. So I guess I would have to manually add people to the project once they write in the thread. However, anyone already added can add new members so I guess it wont be impossible.
There is a paper with requests. I thought those looking for a specific thing can put their request in the thread and then also in the paper so we can tick it off as it goes.
Please PM me with your email and I can add you to the folder officially

Model: samples! I believe that would be the bestest option for a sample player thats cheaper than the digitakt

Or volca sample, for the even cheaper smol version.
But yes model:samples is great.

thanks to both of you, Model:Samples was already here at the top of the list ( sample length on the volca is too short for me) except for the inability of direct preset recording - inb4 D.O.S. insults me: yes, already discussed topic, i'm starting to make up my mind - anyway i don't want to digress and keep the thread focused on the main purpose.
@fck think you have my email from Santana purposes

Indeed I do
That’s the big drawback of that one yes. But the sequencer makes up for it in anything in a similar price range. I don’t think you can record direct into the novation circuit but I know they’ve added sampling to that in an update.

Yeah the sample length on the volca is pretty limiting but it's a great box if you can live within it. I couldn't, eventually so I bought a digitakt
