New project Console Radio Re-do

Woof. I have this old console stereo that's old AF and I got it for free.
thinking about re-furbing the whole thing and powering it with my Zvex IMP instead of the stock power amp. Turntable has haunted speed and who listens to the radio?
so should I re-stain it? new grille cloth? what are your ideas?
it's the thing in the back under all the junk!

Restrain it to a slightly darker brown and change the cloth to match and that would look lit.
Does it have speakers? Are they any good?

Should totally paint it black and replace the grill cloth with purple or red crushed velvet

If you notice the left top panel is top top but the right and center are water damaged.
The inside is a bit of a mess. The drivers and xovers seem to work fine. All the issues are with the turntable, removed, and head.
Thinking about replacing the hinged wood with plexi so so you can see the inp tubes light up. I’m a fan of mid century modern.

This. Or, if it’s real wood and not particle board, I’d stain it a dark gray/black and use a crushed, purple velvet.

Speaker grilles were originally red LOL
I’m thinking maybe paint the whole thing white with black grille cloth and black hardware
